This is the dreaded Loss of Audio/Network Connection issue that effects receivers manufactured between 2009 and 2012. You’ll need to go on the Onkyo site, customer care and if your receiver qualifies they will send you a prepaid box and label that they will provide at no cost to you. Of course you’ll need to wait 7-10 days for the shipping box and another 2-3 weeks for it to be repaired and returned. So for the next 4-6 weeks I’ll be without my surround sound system, this sucks.

Even though I purchased it in 2011 they stepped up and repaired the failed HDMI board and paid freight both ways. Works great.
Kudos to ONKYO for standing behind their product with a known failing part. Car companies could learn a lesson.

I used the website you referenced and submitted my claim. I own the TX-NR609 and have lost all sound as well as the Network and Firmware updates under 7. Hardware Setup are greyed out and I cannot access them. I hope to hear from Onyko soon.
